ETCH welcomes Stephen S. Everroad as new
Executive Director
The “HOME on The
Hill” for children located in Elizabethton, Tennessee has a new
leader as of January 22, 2007,
and his name is Steve Everroad. He comes to us from Blountville, TN.
where he lives with his wife Paulette and daughter Heidi. Steve is a
graduate of Milligan College and Emmanuel School of Religion with a
Master of Divinity graduate degree in Christian Education.
He is
an ordained minister of the First Christian Church in Columbus,
Indiana by their former minister Dr. Ard Hoven and he grew up under
the teaching of Dr. T.K. Smith who baptized him into Christ. Steve
has been a youth/senior minister of Christian Churches in Tennessee,
Indiana and Pennsylvania; served as a cross-cultural missionary with
Christian Missionary Fellowship in Mexico City; worked as an
administrator of a K4-9th grades Christian School in Virginia and
most recently has been the staff chaplain of Asbury Place Senior
Adult Residence Community in Johnson City, Tennessee.
The
Everroads have four adult children and four grandchildren all living
in NE Tennessee, with the exception of one daughter who is preparing
with her husband for the foreign mission field with New Tribes
Mission. Steve asks for your prayers for his ministry, his family
and ETCH and Academy as he desires to be used of God in this sixty
year old parachurch mission work for adolescent girls at-risk.
The
Board of Directors, chaired by Adam Crouch of First Christian Church
of Johnson City, commend to you our brother-in-Christ, Stephen S.
Everroad, and invites you to visit our campus at 517 Allen Avenue up
behind the Elizabethton High School off West G Street. Mr. Everroad
would love to meet with you anytime, anywhere to give you an update
on what God is doing at YOUR Home on The Hill.

Our Heartfelt Thanks
To Delores Fox
For being our Executive
Director for the past two years during our time of transition from our
children being state funded to only private voluntary funded children.
ETCH and Academy does NOT receive any state money anymore, and we’re
thankful to Delores for her help as we are now relying on individuals,
businesses and churches for our financial backing. It has also been a
time of change as we have added our private church school we call the
Academy with our biblically based Accelerated Christian Education
curriculum. Yes, Delores has reentered her retirement years, but she is
still a very active volunteer at the ETCH and Academy. Please continue
to be in prayer for both Delores and her husband Jim as they cope with
some health issues. Thank you Delores, you are loved and appreciated!
Two College Crews Come To Work
We are
blessed with voluntary work groups each year who come on our campus to
beautify the grounds and remodel our buildings. Such is the case again
this year right off the bat as two campus ministry groups are coming to
provide hours of their time in these efforts. One group is from
Appalachian State University and the other is from ETSU. ASU will be
here all day on a Saturday in February and ESTU will be arriving in
March for four full days of work during their Spring Break
Our Academy’s First Graduate
We are so proud to
announce one of our students in our Academy just graduated from high
school with a diploma and she is now serving in the Army Reserves. The
State of Tennessee recognizes our Academy as a church school, and we use
a biblically based Accelerated Christian Education (ACE) curriculum for
all of our adolescent girls. Presently, we have three openings for “day
students” who are not in our residence program, but can come during the
daytime to our school and eat lunch with us. Please contact our Director
of Services Melissa Marvel for additional information at (423) 542-4423
Monday-Friday during our office hours from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.!

stories he shares with us of how God is spreading His Word to our
world. “The Lord lives!” (Ps.18)
