    East Tennessee Christian Home (ETCH) is a ministry of Christian Churches and Churches of Christ, primarily of East Tennessee, that has been dedicated to the healing and restoration of abused, neglected or abandoned children for over 50 years. Located on 18 acres of beautiful hilltop property, overlooking the town of Elizabethton Tennessee, we currently serve 8 young people. At ETCH, our focus is placed on strategies for emotional healing, individually tailored to the specific needs of the child.

    Our original slogan- " need, not creed"- is still very appropriate today. While we never force or coerce anyone to make a commitment against his or her will, Jesus Christ is still our reason for being East Tennessee Christian Home! We see our work as a ministry beyond mere "employment". We have one couple who serves as house parents that grasp every chance to be role models to our residents to lead them into being mature, responsible Christian adults. Everything we do; everything we plan; from the reasons why…to the practical "how to's" is all for the children!
